Heather Price

Heather Price

Heather is an experienced educator at the middle school level. She has devoted 14 years of her career to hands-on classroom teaching and coaching. At LitLife, empowering educators and students with the necessary resources, strategies and opportunities to express themselves and make a positive impact on the world around them is at the heart of her work.

Teaching English to sixth graders in Honduras was the beginning of her dedication to young adolescents. Building upon her experience in Honduras, Heather worked at a public middle school in Brooklyn as a classroom teacher, teacher leader and literacy coach in an integrated co-teaching (ICT) setting. In this role, she worked side-by-side with administrators, staff developers, teachers, support staff, students and their families, as well as with community-based organizations. She aligned the literacy curriculum to reflect the standards across the middle school grade levels. She also developed engaging units of study and modeled and differentiated reading and writing strategies for whole class and small groups. In an ever-changing world of education and literacy standards, Heather is known for her practical advice and realistic goals. She is also reflective in her planning and goal setting, and encourages educators to become more reflective in order to grow professionally and to ensure that all students meet their true potential.

Heather earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish with a concentration in Education from Muhlenberg College and a Master’s degree in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from the Steinhardt School of Education at New York University.
