Carolyn Greenberg joins the LitLife team as an experienced classroom teacher, literacy coach, and central office administrator. Her background serves her well as a LitLife Team Leader as she brings firsthand knowledge of the intricacies of each of these roles to her consulting work. Carolyn is a graduate of Lafayette College where she studied Elementary Education and Art. Carolyn also holds Masters Degrees in Educational Leadership and in Elementary Ed. with a concentration in Educational Technology.
Carolyn began her career with many successful years as a teacher of general education, gifted and talented, and literacy intervention students in grades kindergarten through sixth grade in the New Jersey public schools. Carolyn moved on to become a staff developer and literacy coach.
More recently, Carolyn served as Supervisor of Curriculum and Instruction in a K-8 school district. She supported and provided training for teachers in all aspects of reading and writing workshop instruction including literacy assessment, metacognitve strategies, classroom library organization, fluency, and word study. She observed and coached teachers in classrooms in best literacy practices. Carolyn also worked with teams of teachers and administrators in the development of yearlong, standards-based curricular calendars and units of study to support literacy instruction at all grades.
In addition to Carolyn’s love of literacy education, she has a passionate interest in the use of technology to provide children with engaging, transformative learning experiences in school.
